Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a polymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), which is an important organic fluorine material with excellent dielectric properties and low friction coefficient. Usually used as engineering plastics, can be made into polytetrafluoroethylene tube, rod, tape, plate, film, etc., in industry, daily life and other fields are widely used, has the reputation of “plastic king”.
In recent years, the global consumption of PTFE has grown rapidly, reaching about 70% of the total consumption of fluorine resin. Since 2010, China has been accompanied by the transformation of PTFE production capacity to high-end and special in developed countries, and some of its low-end PTFE production capacity has migrated to China.
At present, China has become the world’s main producer of PTFE. It is estimated that China’s effective capacity of TEflon in 2020 will be 149,600 tons, realizing 97,200 tons of production, accounting for about 60% of the global market.
